Ramadan Mubarak

Assalam-o-Alaikum and Ramadan Mubarak!

Alhamdolillah, following our moon-sighting policy, There has been confirmed and verified sighting of hilal for the month of Ramadan from within the parameters of the Hilal Committee of Toronto on the eve of Sunday 5th May 2019, 29th Shabaan. Therefore, Markaz ul Islam declares Monday 6th May 2019 the 1st of Ramadan.

Hence, tonight is the first night of Taraweeh which will start in Markaz tonight 5 minutes after the Adan at 10:28.  We are fortunate and thankful to Allah SWT who has given us this opportunity to enter in to this holiest month of sacrifice, charity, and forgiveness.

Alhamdolillah, Markaz ul Islam has arranged three young and energetic Huffaz ages 18-20 years from Toronto and Edmonton. All three of them have 3-5 years experience with beautiful voice, pronunciation, frequency, pitch, and speed.

Alhamdolillah, we have arranged more than 600 parking stalls at Taraweeh times during Ramadan. The Markaz has made special arrangements with the managements of Thapar Mall, Catholic school, Leefield Community, and Grace Martin school to receive these parking lots. All of these are just two minutes walk to the Markaz.

We warmly look forward to have all our families join us in Iftar and Taraweeh during this beloved month of Ramadan.
Once again, Ramadan Kareem!

Thank you Albertans

We would like to extend a huge “thank you” to all Albertans and Canadians including media and law enforcement agencies who stood with us in this difficult time when extremist delivered a letter showing hatred towards Muslims, Islam and immigrants. We received hundreds of phone calls, messages, cards and flowers from all over Canada, you have been extremely supportive through this difficult time. We could not have gotten through it without your support.

Best Regards,
Board of Markaz ul Islam

ISLAMPHOBIA in Edmonton

Islamophobia is the fear, hatred of, or prejudice against, the Islamic religion or Muslims generally.
Islamphobia is at rise in our beloved Edmonton.
Currently, Police are investigating after members of an anti-Islamic group showed up at Al Rashid Mosque and confronted people arriving for Friday prayers.
These men were the members of the anti-Islam groups the Clann and the Canadian Infidels.

This group and others inspired by this group are active in our neighborhood.
Yesterday a letter was dropped at Markaz mailbox.

Please be vigilent, and if you find any suspicious activity around Markaz UL Islam or any suspicious person with in Masjid premises, call the police.
